21 Day Fix

Day 13 - Time to Get Dirty Again!

Friday, February 28, 2014

So today wasn't as stellar as it could have been.  Yes, that's a bit of an understatement.  Remember when I mentioned that *what* I eat must be more important than how much?  Well, file today under "lessons learned."  The number of calories I ate today was right where it should be based on the Fix's guidebook.  HOWEVER, the actual food that I ate was not in line with its recommendations.  Shall we take an accounting?  Let's look at what I *didn't* eat, first:
  1. I didn't eat ANY fruit.  Yep, none.  Zip.  Zilch.  Ugh.
  2. I didn't eat enough vegetables.  Per the plan, I should eat 4 servings of veggies.  How many did I get today?  2.  Just 2.
Now let's talk about what I *did* eat - can we say lots of carbs as well as chicken salad.  Now, this chicken salad is not the leafy green variety with grilled chicken breast sitting atop it.  No, this chicken salad was laden with mayonnaise and just enough celery to have a bit of color.  Oh, and what did I put this chicken salad on?  None other than a nice white bagel.

So what do I have to say for myself?  What brilliant reason did I have for my overindulgence?  Just an insane craving that I could not - for the life of me - dismiss.  I just wanted something creamy, something outside of the "healthy" parameters.  And our hospital actually makes the best chicken salad I have ever tasted...but I digress.  Thankfully, the chicken salad satisfied that crazy craving, and dinner was back on the wagon with buffalo chicken breast and yummy veggies.

Workout wise, though, I got to do my favorite workout of the program again!  And the best part?  Yep, increased those weights again.  Used 10 pounders through the whole workout, and still loved the whole thing!  I'm gonna say it again, this workout is *it* for me.  LOVE it, love it, love it!!

OH, and one more thing:  can I just say how excited I am at the shape of my legs?  We're only two weeks in (almost), but I am really starting to get excited about those legs....My legs (and my butt) are my pain points.  The idea that in TWO WEEKS they are changing is mindblowing to me!  Woot!

K, I'm done rambling now.  ;)
