Back to "Real" Life - But Not Before a Little Reliving

Monday, June 23, 2014

So last week I mentioned I was on vacation, right?  It was refreshing and rejuvenating - the perfect escape from an extremely stressful time at work.  It really did me a world of good to step back, take a breath, and reevaluate where I am and what I am reaching and working for.  I have lost sight of my goals by being so wrapped up in my "day job" lately.  I love my hospital, and I love what I do; but it has me climbing the walls at times.  I leave exhausted, with very little energy to devote to my passion - or anything else for that matter.  Vacation was a necessary break from everything, and it truly recharged my batteries.  I am ready to take on the world again, and today is my first day back.  I have big plans for next month, and this is the perfect time to start working on those plans.

But first, there's a little time for a quick walk through last week.  Want to join me?

The first half of the week was spent at a resort where the hubby had a conference.  One of the nights was set up like a carnival.  One of the events was this American Gladiator-esque event.  I have always thought it would be fun to be on that show.  And now I can say I got to experience part of it firsthand - in a dress, no less!  It was fun.  And just between us, I kicked hubby's crack.  lol

But honestly, we were in Orlando, Florida; and what is Florida without a little magic and some fairy tales?  Dragons and princesses and beautiful castles?  And yes, I lived through them all last week.

Every girl dreams of being a princess.
And living in a castle
This girl, though, more than ANYTHING, would love to live on some remote island in the south Pacific.  And, yes, even that dream came true - at least for an instant:
It was a magical week and a real reset.  I was sorry to leave but glad to have had the experience.

Most of all, the week reminded me to dream.  Because dreams really do true.  It's time to start dreaming BIG dreams.  And it's time to start chasing them.
