Success:  what is it?

According to the dictionary, it is defined as:

                               success [səkˈsɛs]n
                               1. the favourable outcome of something attempted
                               2. the attainment of wealth, fame, etc.
                               3. an action, performance, etc., that is characterized by success
                               4. a person or thing that is successful

If you do a quick Google search, you find all sorts of ideas of what success is and how to achieve it:

I think it's safe to say that there is no *one* definition of success.  Guess what that means?  It means that success is highly individualized.  It is situational.  It is based on what is important to you.  What do you value?  What captures your heart, your mind, your very soul?  Is it people?  Power?  Achievement?  Change?  Excitement?  Relationships?  Before you can attempt to be successful, you have to decide what it means to succeed.

For me, my God and my husband take the highest spots in my value system.  Most of all, I strive to honor Jesus and my husband with my words and my actions.  Beyond that, helping people is my passion.  It's why I became a nurse in the first place.  And it's why I got into nursing education.  And it's why I became a Beachbody Coach.

So how do I define success?  Success, to me, is reaching people and showing them potential, freedom, and joy.  It's helping OTHER people reach excellence.  In so doing, I attain excellence for myself.  Success is a cycle.  I help others, and they - sometimes unknowingly - help me.

So, I ask you...  How do YOU define success?
