21 Day Fix

A Day in the Life of the 21 Day Fix

Friday, May 30, 2014

Several people have asked me either 1) what they are "allowed" to eat on the 21 Day Fix or 2) how much I am able to eat per day or 3) what I personally eat every day.  So I decided to show you exactly how my day goes.  While I do NOT eat exactly the same thing every day (I would get entirely too bored!), the "format" is similar to what you'll see here.

Breakfast:

So I know I just said that I don't eat the same things every day, and I meant it.  However, there is one exception, and that is breakfast.  This breakfast is what I eat pretty much every day of the week.  It's the easiest thing for me to grab and run out the door.  I know what you're thinking...  eggs?  Easy and fast?  Yes, they can be.  I crack mine into a bowl, and while my bread is toasting, I throw the eggs in the microwave for just under a minute.  Throw the eggs on the toast and hit the road.  Filling, fast, and still feels like a "real" breakfast.

Morning Snack:

This snack is one of a few that is in my normal rotation.  It's one of those snacks that has a little something for every craving.  I start with lightly salted rice cakes for crunch, then 4 tsp natural peanut butter for creaminess, and finally a small banana for that small bit of sweetness.  Yum!

Lunch:

Lunch was a perfect example of spring and summer eating.  I began with a small salad of greens, mushrooms, and red onions and topped it with light raspberry walnut vinaigrette.  Then I moved on to a small grilled chicken breast.  Finally I topped it off with the sweetness of ripe raspberries.  Did I mention how much food is on this plan?

Afternoon Snack:

Now my afternoon snack was a little late today for two reasons:  1)  I was still full from the large lunch I had and 2)  Friday's are typically date night.  Hubby wanted to go out for ice cream before we hit the theater.  Ice cream is not on my plan, but I didn't have to feel deprived.  After all, I had my own chai milkshake - and it was my healthiest meal of the day!  Love my Shakeology!

Dinner:

Truth be told, neither hubby nor I was very hungry for a "real" dinner.  Hubby skipped it, but I found a chicken breast and 2 baggies of peppers.  Couldn't let you all down!  Even so, I still skipped one yellow, 1 purple, and 1 green.  Can you see why I do not feel deprived on the Fix?  There are days like today, where I just can't eat all the food I'm supposed to!
