Midweek Mealtime - Decadent Chocolate Mousse

So listen, this dessert?  It's for a certain, select few of my readers.  Specifically, this will apply to anyone who may be following a grain free and white-sugar free diet.  OR if you are following a high fat diet, this would work well.

I made this for my boss's birthday because she was following such a diet.  She raved about it for days!

All that to say, this has much more fat than I am used to eating. As such, this is RICH.  A little goes a looooong way.  Just warning you.  ;)  Now, prepare your eyes to feast on this indulgent deliciousness.

  • 5 medium-sized avocados
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup agave nectar or honey
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (from a can - use full fat!)
  • 2 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • Sliced almonds and strawberries for garnish


  1. Peel and pit avocados.
  2. Blend all ingredients other than almonds and strawberries in a food processor or blender until smooth.
  3. Spread into cake pan, and top with strawberries and almonds.
  4. Refrigerate AT LEAST one hour (I did it overnight) to allow flavors to meld and mousse to set.
  5. Enjoy!
